Cable TV - The Monster in Your Living Room! PDF Print E-mail

In the 1970s cable television was just making it's first inroads into the living rooms of America. The movie theater industry saw "Pay TV" as a serious threat to their box office profits. They banded together and produced this "public service announcement" about the horrors of cable TV. Enjoy!

(Update - We had our own version of this video on our YouTube page, but almost immediately after uploading it we got a copyright violation notice from YouTube. I don't know who the fuck would bother having a copyright on this piece of shit video, but someone does. So... we found another copy of it, yes on YouTube. Dunno why no one has taken this one down. We warned you, keep an eye on this SOPA shit, it's only going to get worse kids!)

The Five Degrees of Product Placement in Movies PDF Print E-mail

"Companies spend billions of dollars annually to promote their products, and the film industry is receiving a lot of that money to shamelessly put unrelated products ‘naturally’ within movie scenes. It began as somewhat of a subtle attempt at subconsciously influencing the audience’s thoughts and opinions of a product. Today this annoying marketing degree ploy mutated into a terrible affliction that often seems to grow films into long commercials."

Merry Christmas From Bettie Page and Big Bad Drive-In PDF Print E-mail

We know the politically correct thing is to wish "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas", but you might have noticed, we ain't politically correct. So, we're gonna do it our way, and if that offends you, oh well! Go to the Disney.com site, I'm sure they'd be more to your liking. (See the convenient link we provided? We're not total pricks...)

Anyway, as a "Merry Christmas" sort of thing, during the month of December, we'll be posting our favorite photos or art pieces of female "stars" in holiday poses, starting off with one of our favorites, Bettie Page. We know it's not her most famous Bunny Yeager shot of decorating the tree, we're saving that for the big day itself, but it's a nice piece... of art that celebrates the season. Enjoy.

We have no idea who created this lovely piece, if you know who the artist is, drop us a line on the Contact Us page. Or, if you know of a holiday cheesecake photo or painting you think would fit the theme, let us know.
