Claudia Jennings was born as Mary Eileen Chesterton on December 20, 1949 in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was raised in Milwaukee, WI. She later moved to Evanston, IL, where she graduated high school in 1967.

She then joined the Hull House theater company in Chicago, where she also took a job as receptionist at the offices of Playboy magazine.

Since there was a $5,000 fee if she was chosen, and since that could finance her move to Hollywood, she agreed. She eventually appeared as Playmate of the Month for November 1969, and was later chosen as Playmate of the Year in 1970.

With a beautiful face, and a body to match, (her measurements were 35-23-36,) Claudia was soon in demand for roles in the many exploitation movies being cranked out for consumption in Drive-In Theaters across the land. Claudia had one thing that many of her contemporaries did not, talent. She could read her lines and hit her marks like a seasoned pro.

She also made numerous television appearances, even guest starring in "The Brady Bunch" in the 1973 episode "Adios, Johnny Bravo".

Claudia was reportedly up for high profile television roles such as the title role in "Wonder Woman", which went to Lynda Carter, and as as Kate Jackson's replacement on "Charlie's Angels", but apparently her 4 appearances in Playboy scared network executives off. (A common fate for former Playboy Playmates. (See Julie McCullough.)

She had recently ended a tumultuous relationship with a boyfriend and was on her way to his house to retrieve her belongings, when a van hit her as she drove in her Volkswagen Beetle convertible.

Claudia had been known to have drug problems during her life, but no trace of drugs were found in her system after her death.

Claudia was 29 years old. She was 2 1/2 months shy of her 30th birthday.
