Saturday Night at the Movies: The Amazing Spider-Man (1977) - This is the pilot for the short-lived CBS series of the same name. If you're expecting plot, writing, acting, and special-effects of the caliber of the recent theatrical versions, you might as well be prepared to be severely disappointed.

Back in the '70s, following their success with The Incredible Hulk, CBS attempted to get a few other Marvel characters on the tube. Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, Captain America, Daredevil, and Thor were all tried. (The last two as attempted spinoffs from The Hulk.) Spider-Man was the only attempt to bear any real fruit. (Limited as it may have been.)

The series run consisted of 13 episodes, which included a pilot movie in the fall of 1977; five one-hour episodes in the spring of 1978; six one hour episodes airing in the fall of 1978 and early 1979; and then a final two-hour episode in the summer of 1979. (Wikipedia)
